DJ Ducutan is a mechatronics engineer with a strong background in engineering design, CAD, and hardware product development. He is known for combining a builder’s mindset with practical technical execution, creating mechanical systems and functional prototypes that balance innovation, manufacturability, and reliability. His experience spans robotics platforms, drone systems, embedded integration, and rapid prototyping, making him a valuable contributor in fast-paced engineering environments where ideas must move quickly from concept to tested hardware.
Before joining IXEAN, DJ built hands-on experience through both entrepreneurial and technical leadership roles. As Founder of Zentora 3D, he delivered more than 50 custom 3D-printed projects integrating CAD, electronics, and application-focused design for clients in engineering, architecture, and business. He also completed his on-the-job training at Mikuni Terminals Mechatronics Philippines, where he designed and deployed a custom 3D-printed cutting tool that improved production efficiency by 70 percent and contributed to the integration of a vision-based sorting system for automated classification. These experiences strengthened his capabilities in design iteration, system integration, and practical problem-solving in real-world production settings.
DJ also demonstrated strong leadership in academic and robotics initiatives at Saint Louis University. He served as Vice President for External Affairs of MRSP SLU, where he helped lead robotics training programs and external partnerships that contributed to a national championship win. As Technical Leader of the Autonomous PV Cleaner Mobot project, he directed the development of a semi-autonomous cleaning platform with sensor feedback, while as Project Head of Mech Mayhem 2025, he managed a sponsored robotics competition and supported participating teams in fabrication and 3D modeling. These roles reflect his ability to lead technical teams while staying deeply involved in design and development work.
DJ earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Saint Louis University, graduating Cum Laude and completing all eight semesters as a Dean’s Lister. His technical toolkit includes CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD, along with embedded systems, PCB tools, simulation environments, and AI-assisted development workflows. At IXEAN, DJ contributes to the design and refinement of hardware systems that support the company’s mission of building advanced, dependable, and locally developed AI-driven robotics platforms.
